Great job guys. Mexico is one of those places that you never finish discovering. I would recommend visiting Baja California's beaches as your next trip. I just came back from a trip to Punta Final in Baja California North (in the Sea of Cortez) about 2.5 hours south from San Felipe. We went out fishing and got to see Orcas within a meter of the surface (crystal clear btw), def a once-in-a-life time experience. Check it out!!

In theory I agree with the practice. It makes financial sense, whenever you outlaw anything market demand will always find a way around. Now, I am not trying to justify the practice, I am just explaining the cause. When dealing with endangered species, one needs to find a pragmatic solution. Many of these countries in Africa and Latin America lack the resources to protect these animals. Can someone please explain where else can you get 350K cash for the auction of one animal? That's one side of the coin. The problem comes with holding governments accountable for that cash. I wouldnt be surprised if a large chunk goes away in commissions and bribery - now that an entirely different issue.

Hotels need to be more careful about which employees have access to these accounts. This issues seems like an internal management issue, they shouldn't blame the employee who wrote those comments they should blame the manager that gave that employee access to the account.

Scammers will always find ways to scam tourist. I agree with the general sense of doing good for society, but one needs to be responsible in the way you conduct your charity.

This is the most hilarious article I have ever read. I didnt imagine people actually worried about this sort of stuff.

shuttlewizard shuttlewizard @ShuttleWizard

I've done it myself. Its an amazing experience and anyone travelling there should do it.

shuttlewizard shuttlewizard @ShuttleWizard

Wow. This article is amazing. This is the sort of stuff one cannot make up.

Brilliant way to hack the system. We also found a flaw on airline's pricing algorithms. We just published an article about it. Check it out!!

I agree. All the death culture in Mexico is pretty unique. I have never really understand it and I am Mexican myself - so go figure!! :)

Frida Kahlo work is amazing. Thanks for spreading her work, I think more people will appreciate it once they see her work!!

shuttlewizard shuttlewizard @ShuttleWizard

Nice and succint. Great way to spend a day in 'la capital'.

shuttlewizard shuttlewizard @ShuttleWizard

Love the color on the pics, great job!!

shuttlewizard shuttlewizard @ShuttleWizard

Completely agree. Just like anywhere, you cannot categorize an entire country as safe or dangerous. The 'dangerous' part of Mexico are places where no tourist will ever go. Its like saying all of the US is dangerous because of murders in the suburbs of Detroit, or even within the same city, like saying LA is dangerous because of what happens in South LA when you can go to Manhattan Beach or Beverly HIlls and be perfectly safe. Sometimes the 'dangerous' levels can change within a couple blocks. I've lived in Mexico for some time now and feel completely safe, in fact, I feel safer than when I worked in downtown LA and had to leave my office building at 9pm.

Even though I love Mexico and have spent some time living there. I recommend everyone to visit Mexico and I can only recommend visiting dentist there if you are doing a routine cleanup or simple dental work - anything more advanced you are better off paying up for your dentist in the States.

Mexico City is the Mecca of historic hotels in Latin America. So many beautiful places there.

I've personally meet these girl while living in China. This happens everywhere in the world and in China its done a lot more extensively. I think many western people are shocked by what happens because we apply our code of ethics to their actions. Although I lived there and I think I understand people there, I've come to understand the practice. I've seen this happened in Mexico with people having 'lovers' and in America with people having 'affairs' - its just that in China the wealth gap is so broad that it can attract more girls to the practice.

I would include Vietnam on the list. It was such a hassle getting the visa and once I got there I was still tricked by some officer to payup a bribe to get into the country. Apparently the DC embassy had screwed up the dates for the visa and I had landed at the wrong date, they made me wait like an hour and didnt know what to do with me since the Hanoi airport was closing. I asked if we could settle this and some army office asked for 20 bucks for an 'expedited' visa. I wish he would have asked sooner for it.

I think its perfectly ethical. In fact, I always get out of the way to eat at local restaurants, stay at local hotels, and take local tour guide. I prefer for my money to go directly to a local businessman than indirectly through a large hotel chain, etc.

Halong Bay is beautiful but make sure you dont oversee all the other beautiful sites that Vietnam offers!!

shuttlewizard shuttlewizard @ShuttleWizard

Dont be shy and meet locals!! Its simply the best way!!

I would add visiting Ensenada if you have a chance. Its in Baja California Norte. They have some of the best 'Baja Med' cuisine and a wine country that will leave you speechless!!
