I've had a very similar problem with Amsterdam - I just didn't take to the place at all. I actually felt quite tearful after leaving the red light district and went into a church to feel somehow "cleaner" (even though I'm not religious). I don't understand how an area like that can be a tourist attraction. Thanks for posting, Emma.

Thanks Sonja. I didn't think I'd like the city, but there is still charm and history there to find. I'm off to the pinball museum on my next trip!
