An American Cemetery near Paris that provides a poignant reminder of the sacrifices of many who have fallen in war for our freedom today
National parks are there for everyone to enjoy. Take advantage of them. Here some information about UK national parks. Do you know your national parks?
It is an impressive tradition. Have seen a documentary of such a practice that they also have somewhere in Sweden, if I recall right.
Great shots! We've visited here and hiked the Montserrat rocks. Had a great time!
A very good read about the value of public lands and public parks in the US. Help protect and maintain them.
A must read if you are a Paris-o-phile
What would your choice be? I wouldn't mind sticking to Italian cuisine.
Whenever I visit a new place, I do a little research, do a bit of reading up, just the "basic survival" necessities. But once there, I always allow for the possibility of "getting lost", discovering through the eyes of my inclinations. As I've always said, if your holiday plans go without a hitch, there'll be no hook to hang all those holiday memories on to. Was never into GPS (rely 100% on my maps, thank you very much), own no smartphone, and until I started blogging, never carried a camera. I go, see and remember, the memories taking the cue from the unusual discoveries and/or experiences (especially the bad ones.)
I basically came into hiking rather late. And my first hike was in the Peak District, Matthew. It's really a great place to discover.
Certainly not a secret for long.
Peninnes sound good too. But I'm not into biking, truth be told.
Will you pay extra for such a "privilege"?
Breathtaking photos. Enjoy!
Are you into a bit of history, especially on one of the many ways the Brits brought Nazi Germany to its knees? Read about the Dambusters.
Will your supermarket be flooded with wine from China soon? Let's hope not. Unless you want to save cough syrup in your cellar.
Do you think Catalunya should be a separate country?
And why oh why wasn't I online?
Sorry about that Paige. I know that some readers outside the UK (and even in the UK) have difficulty opening links from the Guardian.
So, London is the Centre of the world....erm Great Britain now, is it?
A different way to experience Montmartre.
