Hey, Spent 2 weeks there. I think 4 days is enough. It's a cool town, and lots of variety. You probably want to do 1 day to tour the downtown area. 1 day for places like Almedies and maybe N'Gor Island. The number 1 thing you HAVE to do is a visit out to Ile de Goree.

I was there first in June and again in late july. There were no music festivals that I was aware of, but there's always music around.

I went with Gecko's Adventures. They are awesome. Adventure and ease. They always get into the cultural. Good peeps.
Meh, I thought it was pretty but really didn't inspire me. The city is basically a giant phoney museum anyways, why not charge for it.
I'm not going to visit again, not because they're charging me but because it didn't feel authentic.
My thing is that if they're going to charge people to enter, they have to keep the annoying "hey, hey, hey, hello, hello, hello, hello" people who yell at you incessantly out.
Used to love going here!
