We did this 2 year ago with a tour. 6 days inside the park. The lack of crowds is awesome. The ability to spot animals is so much easier since they congregate around the thermal features or stand out against the white snow easier. We did some driving on our own in the park after (on the approved roads). As much as I liked the snow coach, being able to drive on my own at my own pace was even better. Enabled us to spend 30 minutes with some baby bison all on our own.
Figure it has so many applications as well. All the good BBQ joints in Austin. Food trucks in San Diego, etc.
