What is Multidimensional Family Therapy?

For adolescents struggling with emotional and behavioral problems and delinquency, Multidimensional Family Therapy (MDFT) is an evidence-based program. Every family has two intermediate intervention goals: ensuring that the adolescent develops a healthy attachment with his or her family and friends, and fostering strong relationships with those around him or her. Additionally, they must succeed in important systems outside of the family, such as education/vocational training, social support groups, recreational pursuits, and spiritual assistance.
