Urban Exploring in Coal Country: Lonaconing Silk MillĀ 

In the early 1900’s, a silk mill came to life in a small town called Lonaconing, Maryland. Cumberland is the closest city, a historic and architecturally interesting place built around coal mines and the railroad.  The local wives of coal miners were identified as a good source of labor for turning raw silk into thread.
