President Hollande's Marianne

If you read my post last week on green stamps, you may have noticed the drawing on the stamps. Green and red stamps When I saw it, I was somewhat intrigued because the previous Marianne stamp was a little different. So I checked it out and this is what I discovered. Marianne, who is the symbol of the French republic, has been used on stamps since 1944.
