Pre Check Status: A Perk Quietly Bestowed to Frequent Fliers

As a travel writer I do a lot of flying -- not like one of the road warriors of the air, but perhaps more than some other folks. And like many fliers I grumble at going through the scanners and having to remove shoes, belts, tissues from my pockets, laptops, etc. etc. etc. And then one day the TSA person checking my boarding pass waved me to another lane, noting that I had Pre Check printed on my pass.
