Trekking in Nepal, and especially to Everest Base Camp (EBC) is not a holiday, at least not in the usual sense. It is a challenging prospect which is not suited to the faint hearted, and determination is probably the most common trait displayed by successful trekkers. It is one journey which is at least as important as the destination.
