Machu Picchu - World Heritage site, testimony to the Inca civilization

Robyn Williams: This is Machu Picchu, 2,500 metres above sea level, high in the Andes in Peru.Mark Adams: It's absolutely spectacular. I don't know if you saw it yourself, but I managed to get up there with John on the June solstice, the 21st through 23rd, and it is absolutely incredible. You look east and there is one of the holy apus there, and the sun sort of rises above the peak like the halo around Jesus's head in a Renaissance painting.
