In the 1990s, escaping the introduction of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act (1994), Tom Hunter – who since became the first photographer to have a one man show at the National Gallery, London – and friends bought a bus and travelled to Europe, seeking out festivals, sleeping on hard shoulders, swimming in lakes.
