Iconic Designs: Boeing 747

There are many contenders for the title Queen of the Skies but the Boeing 747 definitely wears the crown. Its story begins not in 1969 when the huge airliner was first unveiled but much farther back. It starts with one man, Juan Terry Trippe, an American who had fallen in love with planes at the end of World War 1 and started Pan American Airways in 1927.
