How hostels have changed

A single room at Living Lounge in Lisbon. Competition and the web have driven standards in hostels up – it’s time we changed our outdated mental images. At 9pm, a united nations of travellers sits round the lounge, temporarily ignoring the Playstation 3, huge DVD collection and street art-esque doodlings on the walls.
