You might not be aware of this, but since the 1950s, the EBC trip has been the most popular trekking route. Following the first successful ascent of the Mighty Everest in 1953 by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa, a large number of trekkers signed up for the epic adventure. Almost 10,000 trekkers from all over the world travel to Nepal each year to complete the EBC adventure. Compared to other treks in the Himalayas, the base camp walk has a little more difficult ascent due to its greater elevation of 5545m. Surprisingly, it is not as challenging as it may seem.
