Driving the Interoceanic Highway from Peru to Brazil

JUST SEEING IT on a map made my heart race. The Interoceanic Highway: more than 1,500 miles of blacktop running from the coast of Peru, through the high Andes at the heart of the former Incan empire, to the depths of the Brazilian Amazon. Completed in July 2011, the road is the 21st century's Route 66, a highway that connects regions and realizes hundreds of years of frontier ambitions.
