Disadvantages of flexible packaging

1. Flexible packaging shows lack of recyclability. Due to multi layers it can't be recycled. 2. It contains plastic metal and plastic paper metal layers whose separation makes substantially difficult. 3. Due to lower resistance than other materials to fractures, scratches and thermal shock, it is not applicable. 4. It can potentially cause serious hazards from glass splinters or fragments in food. 5. Flexible packaging is often cheap, but embellishing them with personalisation and coating could burden the cost. 6. It can cause pollution which lead to several economic losses because it can't be infinitely recycled. 7. It needs to be stored in cool place because it is sensitive to heat. 8. It has a shorter shelf life because it is more likely to pick up bacteria or other contaminants when handled by people.
