Death of the Naturalist: why is the 'new nature writing' so tame

This is a very interesting and rather critical view of new nature writing. Given that this type of writing potentially shapes and reflects the understanding of our relationships with the natural world (the intersection point of nature, culture and identity), there are some important thoughts for those who are interested in ecotourism, nature-based travel etc. And of course, for all those interested in understanding more about that intersection point.
