As world leaders head to Marrakech next month for the latest climate summit (COP22), the twin issues of energy consumption and CO2 emissions will once again take centre stage. The two subjects are, of course, inextricably linked: carbon-belching fossil fuels are the source of much of the world’s energy, and are contributing to runaway climate change.
