Botswana: Into the Great Wide Open

The boat pushes off from our home for tonight, a temporary camp on a small island in Botswana’s Okavango Delta, and glides into the still waters of the Maunachira Channel. After a hot day spent spotting game from this boat, it’s now dark, so the only indications of the many animals all around us are distant sounds that float across the water.
