The mountain town of Boquete, near the border with Costa Rica, is something of a legend on the expat circuit. At 3,900 feet (1,200 meters) above sea level, Boquete’s weather is delightfully cool. There are scenic coffee plantations at this altitude too plus great bird watching and, well, plenty of other gringos to hang out with.
