Barranquilla, Colombia in Living Color

The more stories Andres told me about his hometown of Barranquilla, Colombia, the more colorful it seemed. Women hawking freshly baked goods straight off their heads? A flood that left boats as the only mode of transportation? Avocados the size of a small child? The time a drought chased an alligator into a neighbor’s pool? Each story seemed more elaborate–and more fanciful–than the last.
