Salzburg Castle, or as its correctly known Hohensalzburg Castle, sits high atop the  Festungsberg mountain overlooking the beautiful city below.  It is one of the largest medieval (11th century) castles in Europe, measuring an estimated 250 m (820 ft) long and 150 m (490 ft) wide.
