Al-Qaida's membership declining
Al-Qaida, the group set up by Osama bin Laden and five other men in August 1988, is operating with a reduced capacity, according to Pakistani intelligence services. Al-Qaida's leadership is a shattered remnant, reduced to begging funds and munitions from local allies and with its most capable members heading to Syria, according to recent briefings from Pakistan's intelligence services.
