A language all our own

Call them tropes. Call them euphemisms. Call them clichés. Yes, even call them hashtags. Vegas has spawned a number of phrases mystifying to outsiders, uncertain to newcomers and maybe even forgotten by longtimers. Some set us in a particular time and place, some gain nuance with each passing decade and others recede into obscurity.
