I have been a travel content creator for more than 15 years, including as a Lonely Planet author, Huffington Post Travel blogger and AFAR Ambassador. No matter the outlet, I have been a tireless agitator – in all parts of the industry – for responsibility and sustainability in travel, and quality in writing and destination marketing.
For example, in recent years, I co-founded Destination Accelerator, which provides education and networking opportunities for destination marketers; am on the organizing committee of the recent New York Travel Festival, a reinvention of the consumer travel show; was a staff writer for Travelllll.com; and was the chief communications officer of the WHL Group, the largest local-travel company in the world, through which I worked with scores of local operators on content creation and marketing, and for which I founded The Travel Word, a website showcasing responsible, sustainable and local travel.
Prior to that, I ran a Europe-based bicycle tour operator, was an editor for GORP.com, and was publications manager of the French Government Tourist Office in NYC.
Today, I am a founding member of several other new ventures, like EcoAdventure Media, a group offering media and marketing solutions for sustainable brands; and Keento, a revolutionary and game-changing voluntourism platform.
