I have two blogs - one is on Travelpod and is a RTW travelogue charting my voyages of discovery since leaving the rat race of London back in 2011. It includes classic destinations such as Mexico City, Southern California, Australia, New Zealand (in a camper van), Thailand and Sri Lanka. But also covers time in less frequented parts of the world such as Laos, The Cook Islands, and the lesser known islands of French Polynesia. There is also quite a lot of introspection produced during an 18 month stint living as a slightly confused expat in Siem Reap, Cambodia.
The second blog is on Matador.com and takes a more observational angle, focusing on themes - rather than on individual places - such as bizarre food, strange toilets and the highs and lows of living at altitude.
I worked as a blggger and reviewer for Travelfish.org, a travel website for independent travellers in Southeast Asia and have have had various full length features published in magazines in Europe and Asia. You can read examples uch as "Horse Whispering in New Zealand", "Is Phu Quoc the next Paradise Lost?" and "Why travelling all the way to Easter Island is worth the effort" on my website at www.simonjhare.co.uk
